Multiply by 6 and 7: what children learn
The 6s and 7s are the hardest facts, so break them into easier ones: 6 × 7 is the same as 30 + 12, because 6 × 5 = 30 and 6 × 2 = 12.

Multiply by 6 and 7: how to help at home or in class
A calendar turns the 7s into something visible, since every row is one week. Ask how many days in four weeks and count down the rows. For the 6s, think of six-packs or half a dozen and build from there. Keep a small pile of cards with just the facts your child misses, and practise those few for a minute each day. Once these two tables hold steady, the 8s and 9s are the last of the hard ones.
