Division — Missing Number: how to help at home or in class
Write three versions of one fact with a different box each time: 24 ÷ 4 = __, 24 ÷ __ = 6, and __ ÷ 4 = 6. Ask your child which is easiest and why, then have them solve all three by finding the matching multiplication fact first. They will notice that the unknown can be a quotient, a divisor or a starting amount. When picking the right fact is automatic, fact families tie it all together.
