Kids often lose track partway through the year since there are 12 months to hold in order — keeping a calendar nearby for reference while this is new helps.
Months of the Year: how to help at home or in class
Hang a wall calendar and flip to a new page together at the start of every month. Chant the months in order, and then mark birthdays and holidays so each month has a memory attached. Cut out twelve cards and let your child put them in a line, then ask which month comes after or before a chosen one. When your child can place any month in the sequence without starting at January, try reading a calendar page.
