Use slips of paper for hundreds, tens, and ones to solve 376 + 258. Add the ones, 6 + 8 = 14, and trade ten ones for a new ten. Add the tens, 7 + 5 + 1 = 13, and trade ten tens for a hundred. Then add the hundreds, 3 + 2 + 1 = 6, for a total of 634. When your child writes the traded ten and hundred without prompting, try subtraction.
